The Discipleship Training School is a five month, hands-on Christian training program with a 12 week lecture phase followed by an 8 week outreach phase. The dts provides you with an opportunity to take five months away from the normal pressures and routine of life so you have time to focus entirely on Jesus. The program teaches you how to build an intimate relationship with God, develop personal character, and lead a lifestyle of expressing God's love to others.

The dts is also a great place to make new friends from around the world as you live and learn together in community. We emphasize global awareness while living in a rich, multi-cultural community where we all learn from one another. This cross-cultural environment creates a basis for an intimate and passionate relationship with God so you can boldly go and "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). dts is only the beginning. Once trained, you qualify to apply for many more opportunities with ywam including staff positions and other ywam training programs. Pray about it. The real Christmas Story

The real meaning of Christmas is often forgotten. More children believe in Father Christmas than in Jesus. Christmas Day is a time for eating and drinking too much and watching television.




The real Christmas story is found in the Bible. It is told in two different books: Matthew and Luke chapters 1 and 2. You may think that the story of the birth of Jesus, and the way that the West celebrates Christmas today, do not seem to have many connections.

The birth or Jesus was not ordinary! Mary was not married, she was a virgin, and an angel had told her she would bear a special baby. Her husband-to-be, Joseph, did not believe her at first. Who would? Then an angel told him in a dream that it was true! Probably no one else believed it. So when they had to travel from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem (near Jerusalem), to register their names with the ruling Roman government, they probably escaped many hard words from other people.

Arrival in Bethlehem brought worry and upset: there was no room for them to stay at the hotel. There was only space in the stable - the animal house for travellers' donkeys and horses.

Jesus was born that night, and as they had no bed for him, they used an animal feeding box filled with the dry grass the animals ate.

Christmas cards and pictures today make it all seem very nice. In truth, it must have been dirty and frightening for a young couple, far from their home and families. Possibly the birth was premature after the stress of the journey. This was a very poor place for Jesus to start his life on earth.

When all else is quiet is when we can start letting "stuff" come to our mind that eventually leads to sin. Whatever we let our mind dwell on...and we think it is safely tucked away there...well, it becomes so comfortable that we act on it! Resentments, bad attitudes, lusts...etc. All those can get their start in those quiet moments when your head hits the pillow. But..... take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ!

Don't worry about anything: instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ....Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:6-9

We have seen evidence of this all over the world, people struggling with their thoughts, having difficulty concentrating and hearing “voices.” These “voices” or negative thoughts are usually self-condemning, suicidal, delusional, and phobic which result in feelings of guilt, fear, hopelessness, sadness, and despair. These symptoms are what therapists typically associate with depression, anxiety disorders or psychosis. These negative thoughts are patterns of the flesh learned from living in a fallen world or they are fiery darts from Satan, which Scripture has clearly warned us about? A therapist with a secular world view would not even consider such possibilities.

Have you ever had the line go dead while making a phone call? When that happens, you try to reestablish the connection as quickly as possible, so you can continue the conversation.

As you'll see in this short film, our relationship with God has been interrupted much like a dropped call. As the father, in this movie, gives his everything to try and reestablish the connection with his daughter, God, our Heavenly Father, has given everything to reconnect with us.

Why? Because he loves us deeply and unconditionally!
