The Cayman Islands are located in the Caribbean Sea and are the peaks of a massive underwater ridge, known as the Cayman Trench, standing 8,000 feet from the sea floor, which barely exceeds the surface.

Ialpug flows into one of the Danube limans, while Cogâlnic into the Black Sea chain of limans.
